Good running technique is critical to CrossFit and addressing poor movement patterns can help people’s pain in just a day, as we experienced with Evelina. She tells her story here:
“My work with the running lab has resulted in two specific improvements:
I can now run pain free. Previously I suffered from pain in my left knee, hip and hamstring. This occurred every time I ran, even during short pieces during a CrossFit workout. I didn’t mention this pain to Tim before the workshop, and he was able to help me solve this problem completely through correcting my movement- without specifically addressing my pain.
I was also taught how to relax during running. This is very important for me as a CrossFit athlete without any running background. Previously a running piece in a CrossFit event would be a weakness of mine. But I have been taught how to how relax and recover during running and therefore use it to my advantage.
Not only was I able to ‘clean up’ my running technique. But I learnt the importance of strengthening and looking after my feet all day every day. This helped me specifically in my role as a coach. I now feel that I am able to provide better advice to my CrossFit and PT clients in regards to posture, movement and shoe choice. I am always looking for ways in which I can help my clients more, and The Running Lab has helped me in this way.”
