The Running Lab’s original program consists of four one on one appointments spread over a 6-week period with the founder of The Running Lab, Tim Bransdon. All appointments take place at Wollongong Podiatry (Tim’s Podiatry practice and home of The Running Lab) in Wollongong NSW, Australia.
The same Running Lab drills and drill progressions are used in the One on One In-Clinic Program as per the Online Course and One-Day Clinic. The advantage of one on one sessions are the personal guidance provided by Tim Bransdon throughout the program.
The One on One In-Clinic Program makes use of a force platform along with dual high-speed cameras and a Woodway Curve treadmill (no motor; no speed limit; unlike anything you have ever run on) for incredible high tech analysis of your walking and running.
The other advantage of The Running Lab One on One In-Clinic Program is Tim’s ability to manage and rehabilitate injuries and niggles as part of the program. For instance, many broken down athletes attend Tim’s Wollongong Podiatry clinic and morph into The Running Lab program as part of their rehabilitation.
The Running Lab drills, modified as needed to suit the injury being treated, provide a fantastic and unique base for rehabilitation whilst also serving to improve the athlete’s technique before returning to running.
The Running Lab and Wollongong Podiatry has even had athletes with lower limb stress fractures back running – “efficiently”, as opposed to what caused the stress fracture in the first place – just eight weeks post injury; a time when many injured athletes are only just getting the dreaded walking boot off and beginning their rehab.
The One on One In-Clinic Program has a large focus on footwear (for work and lifestyle as well as running), mobility (reversing the damage of sitting and preventing “hunchback desk-junkie” running) and strength and posture (where our daily habits greatly impede our ability to run efficiently and injury free).
The One-on One In-Clinic Program is claimable from Australian health funds if you have Podiatry cover as part of your membership package.
Your success from The Running Lab One on One In-Clinic Program will be measured not only with your improved running but also by improvements in many other aspects of your life. I have had many Running Lab participants contact me months after completing the course with reports of achieving success in athletic endeavours separate to running; or even overcoming long term injuries and obstacles they thought they were destined to carry with them forever. Some just report less aches and pains in life in general; or an increased ability to run around with their grandchildren and even great grandchildren.
It is time to learn how to run; to do drills to improve your technique; exercises to improve your mobility, strength and posture; and ultimately, run better and safer through efficiency.
