The Running Lab is the brainchild of Tim Bransdon, a life-long student of human movement and biomechanics.
Since the age of two Tim has being actively involved in sport, including ten years playing Premier level rugby. Throughout most of these years the aim of the game in respect to running for Tim was speed…and more specifically, explosive speed.
Intermingled with the sport was a career that began as a Podiatrist but slowly morphed itself into a job description that is more akin to a specialist in the art of standing, walking, running, jumping, squatting, etc.
The Running Lab was born after many years of self-experimentation in improving foot and body posture, strength and efficiency by Tim. This resulted in no longer wearing orthotics; or shoes with support, control, guidance or any other feature of the modern running shoe.
More specifically on the running front Tim transformed himself from being a slave to heel striking, to running efficiently with no more than 3mm of rubber under his feet. This transformation was made possible with the use of drills; and ultimately spawned the formation of The Running Lab.
Along with The Running Lab Tim owns and runs Wollongong Podiatry, a clinic specialising in lower limb mechanics, injury, treatment and rehabilitation.
